China News Service, Chengdu, December 30 (Yue Yitong, Chen Xuanbin) "There are more than 400 bottles of cigarette butts stored here. There were originally more than 700 bottles, but there is not enough space to dispose of some of them." On the 30th, in Wuhou District, Chengdu In a youth hostel, Lu Lisong, a “post-90s” Zhejiang guy, opened the cabinet and showed reporters the joint labor achievements of the participants in the “City No Cigarette Butts” environmental protection campaign he initiated for more than a year.

After graduating from Sichuan University, Lu Lisong, who loves Chengdu, runs a youth hostel with his friends and started his own business.

In 2019, he came into contact with the popular environmental protection movement "Plogging" at the time.

This sport originated in Sweden, meaning "run while picking up trash". It is a public welfare and environmental protection campaign initiated by sports enthusiasts.

Soon after, Lu Lisong, who was inspired, launched the "City No Cigarette Butts" activity in Chengdu, organizing volunteers who signed up to participate.

Up to now, the event has carried out about 40 sessions, with more than 1,000 participants.

The reporter saw that each plastic bottle was filled with cigarette butts, which was a bit "spectacular" when placed together.

Taking into account the safety of participants and the completion of garbage cleaning, the "City No Tobacco Butts" event organized by Lu Lisong is different from the traditional "Plogging", which is mainly carried out in the form of walking instead of running.

"I will design a different route in each period so that participants can better understand the city of Chengdu while carrying out environmental protection activities." Lu Lisong introduced that each activity lasts about 2 hours and the route length is 3 kilometers to 3 kilometers. About 5 kilometers.

Lu Lisong said that the reason for launching this activity is to spread the awareness of environmental protection, so that more people pay attention to environmental protection, and actively participate in them, and jointly contribute to the creation of a beautiful urban environment.

"A lot of people are environmentally conscious, but they may be embarrassed to take the first step in action, hoping to encourage more people to protect the environment through the'City No Cigarette Butt' campaign."

Since launching the event for more than a year, Lu Lisong admitted that he has gradually seen changes in the citizens.

“In the beginning, it was basically young people who participated in this activity. Later, some mothers and their children will come to participate.” Lu Lisong said, what impressed me the most was that several activities were carried out to midway, and some passed by. Of citizens took the initiative to participate.

"Everyone's environmental awareness is getting stronger."

"I want to display these cigarette butts through cultural and creative methods, and I am currently connecting with relevant institutions." (End)
