[Explanation] Recently, the Old Summer Palace has launched the third phase of the "Repair 1860" project, which is the first restoration of the Western-style decorative glazed components unearthed from the Xiyanglou site.
[Explanation] The Western House is a combination of Chinese and Western buildings. Emperor Qianlong also participated in the design. The whole building is mainly made of marble. The iconic "Dashui Method" in the Old Summer Palace is located on the site of the Western House.
This is the first time that Yuanmingyuan has repaired the glazed components of the Western Building. It requires cleaning, pre-splicing, bonding, refitting, leveling, coloring, painting, and glazing.

These colored glazes of the Western Building are unique. It is a baroque ornamentation. Its colors are very gorgeous and diverse. There are not only the familiar yellow-green, but also azure, emerald, purple and so on.
Everyone has been to the Western House and thinks that the Western House is the color of off-white marble. In fact, the Western House in history is colorful, and it is also (thinking) to restore the appearance of the Western House in Qianlong's eyes.
[Explanation] In addition, the third phase of the "Repair 1860" of Yuanmingyuan will also repair 24 pieces of Kangxi blue and white dragon and phoenix bowls, Kangxi yellow glaze plate with twisted branches, Kangxi bucket color narcissus ganoderma cup, Qing Qianlong blue and white Sanskrit high-foot bowl, etc., unearthed from the Yuanmingyuan site Among the porcelains in the process of archaeological excavation, a group of Kangxi blue and white ladies' bowls are difficult to restore.

Our blue and white ladies bowl has about 1,000 slices, but it is not one bowl, there may be many bowls.

Maybe when I was looking for this piece here, it was impossible to think that it would be related to (this bowl), but I just looked for it bit by bit, and finally found that this small bit can also be with them. This Kind of a pleasant surprise.
[Explanation] Zhang Kexin told reporters that only the bowl in her hand has been repaired for about two months, and it is expected that it will be completed in more than one month.
[Explanation] Chen Hui said that due to the large number of cultural relics in the third phase of "Repair 1860", the technology is also more detailed, and it is expected to be completed by the summer of 2021.
[Explanation] Previously, the first phase of "Repair 1860" in the Old Summer Palace had completed the restoration of 6 pieces of porcelain, including the blue and white lotus embroidered pier and the Kangxi Tuanlong porcelain bowl. The second phase has completed the Yongzheng blue and white bowl and the "Earth Heaven Mother". Restoration of 11 cultural relics including Buddha statues.
