On Tuesday, December 29, French fashion designer Pierre Cardin died at the age of 99. At 17 he became a tailor, then worked for major fashion brands for several years, and in 1950 founded his own company. The designer produced both women's and men's clothing, as well as perfumes and furniture. Cardin was the first couturier who decided to sell his products at relatively low prices, which made it available to a wide audience. He also became one of the popularizers of the unisex style.
