Three weeks ago, Margaret Keenan was the first person in Great Britain to be vaccinated against the coronavirus - now the 91-year-old has received the second dose of the drug.

The grandmother was given the syringe on Tuesday in the central English city of Coventry.

Two doses per person are required for full vaccination protection.

"It is fantastic to see Margaret Keenan get her second dose of Pfizer Biontech corona vaccination," tweeted Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

"We will make it through this pandemic together."

A study by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has shown that apparently far more people in Wuhan were infected with the coronavirus than previously thought.

Tests found that 4.43 percent of 34,000 people in Wuhan had antibodies to the coronavirus.

Based on the total population of Wuhan (eleven million), 500,000 people would have been infected there.

Officially, the health authorities had only reported 50,354 infections.

At the beginning of the corona pandemic in January, many people with flu symptoms in Wuhan had not yet been tested for the coronavirus, authorities and hospitals were overcrowded and overloaded.

Many also died at home without being registered as a corona death.

In other cities in Hubei Province, the result was significantly lower.

Accordingly, only 0.44 percent of the population here have antibodies.
