It is rumored that the then President François Mitterrand - known throughout his life as a gourmet - was said to have eaten Georges Quetier's oysters sometime in the 80s and praised them so much that ultimately all of Paris craved them.
In the meantime, their status in the capital is comparable to that of chickens from Bresse, lobsters from Brittany or wine from Burgundy.
