According to the organizer, the newly opened Lianfu Art Museum received funding from the National Culture and Art Fund in 2019, and held the "Chinese Contemporary Lacquer Painting Tour Exhibition" in six provinces and cities including Xiamen and Beijing, sparking a local lacquer painting boom.
In order to better transform the results of the tour and promote the development of lacquer painting art, this retrospective exhibition is specially held.

The exhibition is based on Lianfu’s nearly 20-year lacquer painting collection, cutting into the academic status of contemporary Chinese lacquer painting, and selecting three generations of lacquer painting artists from the main creative areas of contemporary Chinese lacquer paintings to provide a relatively complete overall appearance, The development context and diverse patterns present Chinese contemporary lacquer painting art.
At the same time, an international exhibition hall will be added to the exhibition to display Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese lacquer art works, so that visitors can have a more intuitive understanding of the context and development status of world lacquer art.
This exhibition will last for three months from now to March 28 next year, with a total of nearly 150 lacquer paintings on display.
As a national-level lacquer painting exhibition platform, the China (Xiamen) Lacquer Painting Exhibition has permanently settled in Xiamen, and Xiamen has become an important town for the development of modern Chinese lacquer painting art. The 2009 and 2019 National Art Exhibition Lacquer Painting Exhibitions will be held in Xiamen; Xiamen Lacquer Painting Industry The chain is complete and the prototype of an industrial cluster is beginning to take shape. In addition to this Chinese contemporary lacquer painting tour exhibition, the museum has also been invited by the 2022 Winter Olympics Organizing Committee to become the sole provider of lacquer painting art exhibitions, providing lacquer painting art for the main stadium and important reception venues for exhibition .
