On December 27, the lowest temperature in the Huzhong District of Daxinganling, the “coldest town in China” reached -44.5℃, marking the lowest temperature since the beginning of winter this year.

Due to the extremely cold weather, the town was shrouded in "ice and fog" with visibility of less than 100 meters, and the cold was biting. Vehicles on the road turned on fog lights and moved slowly.

Huzhong District is located on the northern slope of Yilahuli Mountain in Daxingan Mountains. The frost-free period is only 83 days. The lowest temperature in the history of the town is -53.2℃, and the annual average temperature is -4.3℃. The weather of -40℃ can reach 30 days per year. "China's coldest town".
