The legendary Millau viaduct, illustration -

This is the beautiful story of Christmas, and it comes from our colleagues at
Midi-Libre
.
Friday, December 25, a Forty-year-old Tarn man stopped his car on the Millau viaduct and approached the edge of the building in order to jump and end his life.
Fortunately, the viaduct security guards, who are used to watching the edges to prevent base jumpers from jumping (a practice of jumping off the viaduct and opening your parachute at the last moment, which has already killed many), spotted the man before he took action.
The individual safe and sound
Alerted by his behavior, the security agents contacted the firefighters who went to the scene.
The firefighters managed to dissuade the man from jumping.
He was transferred to the Millau hospital, where his morale is said to have improved according to
Midi-Libre
.
All's well that ends well, in short.
