WORLD:

What do you need a what for, Prof. Dr.

Fast?

Tatjana Schnell:

Let's imagine we didn't have this for what: We wouldn't live for ourselves or for others.

We have no goal and no orientation.

So that would be such a drift.

Lately I've been hearing especially young people say: “Can't we just live like that?

Without this pressure to make sense, without the constant asking for what for, for what? ”But if you drift around like a ship without a course, depending on the wind and current: That might be nice and pleasant for a short time.

But we are part of a community as people.

We have a need to belong, but are also subject to a wide variety of requirements.

We find it difficult to evade this - unless as hermits.
