In response to the endless number of accidents involving bicycles with children's seats, the Consumer Affairs Agency's Safety Investigation Committee, the so-called "Consumer Accident Report," has reviewed safety standards in the country and is a place where accidents are likely to occur. We have compiled a report requesting the improvement of the environment.

The Consumer Accident Report has been investigating the situation and preventive measures for bicycle accidents with children's seats, and compiled a report on the 25th.

According to the analysis results of the accident data of the Tokyo Fire Department, there were many cases where the bicycle fell and the child was injured while the bicycle was stopped, and about 60% of them were sitting in the front seats.

In addition, in fact-finding surveys conducted in Tokyo and Osaka, the movement of children when getting on and off the seat, the hanging of luggage on the handle, and the slight inclination of the bicycle parking lot caused the fall, and half of them fell. It means that a nearby person was carrying a child without wearing a helmet.

The report also includes the results of a running experiment with a commercially available bicycle, showing that the state of having one child in the front seat has more wobble than the state of having one child in the front and one in the back. We are also investigating the effects of steps when moving from the road to the sidewalk.

On top of that, the government is required to review safety designs and standards to prevent bicycles from falling, to improve the environment such as bicycle parking lots in kindergartens, and to require users to always wear helmets.

Mr. Takehisa Nakagawa, chairman of the consumer accident style, said, "I want you to know that a bicycle with a child can fall even on a slight inclination. I was talking.
