On December 25, Zhou Jianping, chief designer of China's manned space engineering and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, stated that China plans to launch the core module of the space station in the first half of 2021, and then continue to launch the Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft and the Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft.

At present, the core module has basically completed all the testing work, the astronaut crew has been selected, and mission training is underway.
