Before dawn on the 25th, a fire broke out in a room in a 14-story condominium in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, and a man was rescued and taken to a hospital, but died.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire while confirming the identity of the man in his 50s who died in this room.

Around 1:30 am, a person living in the neighborhood reported to the fire department that a 14-story condominium in Tachibana, Sumida-ku, Tokyo was on fire.



Eighteen fire trucks and other vehicles went out and the fire was extinguished about an hour later, and a man rescued from a room on the sixth floor, which is believed to be the source of the fire, was taken to the hospital, but was soon confirmed dead.



The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire while confirming the identity of the man in his 50s who died in this room.



The site is a residential area about 1 km north of JR Kameido Station.
