In response to a woman in Minhou County, Fuzhou, Fujian, who said she saved herself and escaped after the elevator plunged to 23 floors, on December 24, the head of the Special Equipment Safety Section of the Minhou County Market Supervision Administration responded to The Paper (www.thepaper.cn), saying, Preliminary investigation was made that the cause of the accident was that the elevator wire rope jumped from another place and caused abnormal noise.
The person in charge said that the online video is accelerated, and in fact it is not a sudden drop, it is a normal speed downward.
At present, the Market Supervision Bureau has interviewed the property and elevator maintenance unit about the incident, and is further investigating.
At the same time, the bureau requires property and elevator companies to repair elevators as soon as possible, conduct a comprehensive investigation of other elevators, and try to ensure that the owner's travel is not affected.
Earlier, some netizens posted a video on the short video platform saying that she had an accident while riding an elevator in the West Coast Community of Sunshine City.
"I almost didn't get out of the elevator alive." The elevator surveillance video released by the netizen on December 22 showed that she pressed the floor button after entering the elevator from the 35th floor.
After the elevator doors were closed, the numbers on the screen in the elevator car changed rapidly from the 35th floor to the 12th floor.
The surveillance video showed that while the elevator was descending, she pressed buttons for multiple floors, and then the elevator stopped on the 12th floor and opened the door.
After the woman left the elevator, the elevator door deformed and "smoke" appeared.
The upper left corner of the surveillance video showed that the incident occurred at 7:21 on December 22.
The person in charge of the aforementioned special equipment safety department stated that the cause of the accident was initially found to be an abnormal noise after the elevator wire rope jumped out of the slot, which caused the owner to be frightened.
After the owner pressed multiple floors, the elevator descended to the 12th floor.
After the owner got out of the elevator, the elevator ran again, and the elevator door was pulled by the wire rope, deformed and dust was scattered.
As for the "sudden drop" of the elevator described in the video, the person in charge said that by watching the video obtained by the property, the elevator running from the 35th floor to the 12th floor took more than 30 seconds, and the actual speed was about 2.5 meters per second. According to this parameter, the elevator goes down normally.
The sudden drop of the elevator in the short video is due to acceleration.
