Two cases of a corona mutant from South Africa have been discovered in Great Britain.

The variant will be examined in the laboratory in Porton Down, Health Secretary Matt Hancock told journalists in London on Wednesday.

According to the information, it is the mutant with the designation 501.V2.

Last Friday, the South African Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said that 501.V2 was circulating in his country.

The two people infected in the UK and their contacts had gone into isolation, said Hancock.

In addition, immediate measures were taken for entry from South Africa, details were not given.

"We are very concerned about this new variant because it is transmitted even faster," said the British Minister.

"It seems like it has mutated even further than the new variant discovered in the UK."
