According to an NPO survey, the number of "children's cafeterias" that provide meals and places for children has increased to more than 5,000 nationwide, nearly 40% compared to June last year.

The NPO says that this is because the corona sickness made people more aware of the importance of supporting children and creating a place to stay.

This was revealed at a press conference by the NPO "National Children's Cafeteria Support Center Musubie" on the 23rd.

The NPO is checking the number of children's cafeterias nationwide, and by this month it was confirmed that there were 5086 locations, an increase of 37% from June last year to 1368 locations.

According to NPOs, there are cases where children are hesitant to gather and provide meals due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

However, as the number of people who are in need of living due to unemployment and reduced income is increasing, there is a growing movement to open new ones because it is important to support children and create a place to live in the community.

On the other hand, measures to prevent infection are also an issue.

Under the supervision of a doctor, the NPO is a booklet that summarizes the efforts to hold a children's cafeteria, such as taking measures such as wearing masks and thorough disinfection, separating seats from each other and improving ventilation in the room. I will make and distribute it.

Makoto Yuasa, the chairman of the NPO, said, "The children's cafeteria is a base for supporting children and the community. Ideally, there is a children's cafeteria in each elementary school district, and we would like to work to expand it further in the future." I did.
