As the infection of the new coronavirus spreads rapidly and the medical field is tight, Hiroshima University has decided to dispatch doctors and nurses from the medical school to hospitals in Hiroshima prefecture.

This was revealed by President Mitsuo Ochi of Hiroshima University at a press conference on the 22nd.

In Hiroshima Prefecture, the infection has spread rapidly since the end of last month, and the number of infected people per 100,000 population is 23.3, which is the third highest in Japan.

If an infectious disease is confirmed, you will be examined by a doctor at a "triage outpatient clinic" set up at a designated medical institution for infectious diseases, and you will be assigned to be hospitalized or spend time at an accommodation-friendly medical facility. The rapid expansion has not caught up, and about 350 people are waiting for a medical examination at home.

To resolve this situation, Hiroshima University has decided to send medical doctors, nurses, and radiologists to the "Triage Outpatient Department".

President Ochi of Hiroshima University said, "University hospitals are also difficult to accept critically ill patients, but we would like to provide maximum support."
