After the ZDF ventured into a two-part reinterpretation in 2009, a German production is now to appear again.

Netflix plans to shoot a six-part series about the iconic Empress of Austria-Hungary in spring 2021.

Accordingly, Devrim Lingnau will take over the role of Sisi.

The 22-year-old actress could be known from productions like “Auerhaus”, “Verlorene Sicherheit” or “Carmilla”.

Philip Froissant is supposed to play Emperor Franz.

The 26-year-old lives in Munich and found his way to acting via detours.

Most recently he was in front of the camera while filming “Black Island”.

The miniseries entitled "The Empress" will adapt the story of the imperial couple to the zeitgeist.
