On December 21, the Director of the Food and Health Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Zhaoshi, announced that Hong Kong will tighten its anti-epidemic regulations and prohibit British passenger flights from arriving in Hong Kong from 0:00 on the 22nd.

All persons who have stayed in the UK for more than 2 hours in the past 14 days, including permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will be prohibited from boarding flights to Hong Kong until further notice.

British arrivals who have entered Hong Kong must be forced to stay at home for an additional 7 days after completing the mandatory hotel test on the 14th. Until the test results on the 19th or 20th day after their arrival in Hong Kong, offenders will be fined HK$5,000.
