In November, other changes in the cast of the third part of the Harry Potter spin-off became known: Warner Bros.

approved the Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen for the role of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Johnny Depp played in the first two parts.

The actor was asked to withdraw from the project after he lost a court case against the publisher of The Sun in a libel case.

Earlier, the tabloid published information that Depp allegedly beat his ex-wife Amber Heard.

In an interview, Mikkelsen said that in his performance, Grindelwald will be different from the character played by Johnny Depp.

At the same time, the actor promised that when creating a new image, the project team will not ignore all the developments of his colleague.

“We need to bridge the gap between what Johnny is playing and what I’m going to play.

At the same time, I must make this role mine.

But we have to find some common ground (with the previous version of the character. -

) and connecting threads, so as not to completely abandon what Johnny was so masterfully able to realize, "Entertainment Weekly quotes Mads Mikkelsen.

Earlier in the center of the scandal was another actor involved in the films of the Fantastic Beasts franchise - Ezra Miller.

He plays Credence Barebone, one of the key characters in the saga.

In early April 2020, a video appeared on the network in which the actor attacked an unknown girl.

He grabbed her by the neck and then knocked her to the floor.

It is not clear from the published video what happened, but it is known that the police did not need to be involved to resolve the "conflict".

Nobody brought any charges against the actor either.

However, the video generated some backlash from fans of the franchise.

Many have taken to Twitter to Warner.Bros asking that Miller be removed from both Fantastic Beasts and The Flash.

It is currently known that the actor will appear in both projects.

In Fantastic Beasts 3, Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler and other artists will also return to their roles.

The director of the tape is David Yates.

He also worked on the previous two installments of the series, as well as producing the last four Harry Potter films.

J.K. Rowling is working on the script for the film.

Steve Clovis also contributed to the preparation of the script.

He collaborated with the writer on all eight Harry Potter films.

The events of the third part will unfold in the 1930s, and Rio de Janeiro will become the scene of action along with other locations.

In the center of the plot of the picture is still the magician-zoologist Newt Scamander, engaged in the search and study of fantastic creatures.

Filming began in London in the fall of 2020, and the Russian premiere is expected on July 14, 2022.
