Recently, the staff of Jiulong Mountain Reserve in Suichang, Lishui, Zhejiang Province, when checking the contents of infrared cameras in the reserve, discovered that in August 2020, they detected a small individual black bear in the reserve and was photographed by the infrared camera while stealing honey.

The screen showed that the black bear was agile, climbed up the cliff along the rock, and began to think about stealing the honey from the bee bucket. Anxious, suddenly took the bee bucket away.

Since 2018, 3 black bears have been monitored in the Jiulongshan Nature Reserve. In August this year, another black bear was detected outside the Jiulongshan Nature Reserve (the area to be expanded).

At present, 4 black bear individuals have been monitored in Jiulongshan area.

The staff speculated that this indicates that there are indeed black bear groups in the Jiulongshan area.
