On Friday, December 18, Channel One hosted the quarterfinals of the ninth season of the Voice show.

From this stage, the performances of the contestants are broadcast live.

Each mentor had to distribute 20%, 30% and 50% of the votes among their three wards remaining in the project.

TV viewers also took part in making the final decision on who will go to the semifinals, and two vocalists from each team entered the next stage.

Valery Syutkin's wards were the first in the quarterfinals.

"Absolutely jazz", according to her mentor, performer Fantine Pritula sang the song Virtual Insanity of the British funk group Jamiroquai, and pianist Oleg Akkuratov, to his own accompaniment, presented Charles Aznavour's hit "Eternal Love", which sounded in the film "Tehran-43".

Suren Platonov performed with the legendary song of the group Queen We Are the Champions.

He performed part of the composition in Russian.

Polina Gagarina separately assessed the appearance of the first contestant and noted that she could not even sing, but just walk.

The artist also liked the performance of Oleg Akkuratov: from him, according to Gagarina, she got goosebumps.

In the room of Suren Platonov, the singer did not have enough strain.

Basta agreed with her, who expected a bigger "scope" from the performance of the composition.

Sergei Shnurov refrained from harsh criticism, traditional for himself, explaining this by the New Year mood.

The artist was especially hooked on the performance of Oleg Akkuratov.

“I had a jump in the place where the soul should be.

I felt that I was not as hopeless as it seemed to you all during this year, ”Shnurov said.

As a result, Valery Syutkin gave 50% of his votes to Oleg Akkuratov, he also got the overwhelming majority of the viewers' votes.

Suren Platonov took the second place according to the voting results.

The artists will continue to participate in the competition.

Polina Gagarina's charges were next on the stage.

Kirill Suslov performed the song Sway, which was previously performed by such musicians as Dean Martin, Ben & King, Cliff Richard, Pussycat Dolls and many others.

Nadezhda Samkova presented Madonna's hit Frozen, and Yana Gabbasova sang the Cossack song "Not for you" to show "Russian expanse", as her mentor put it.

Vasily Vakulenko especially noted the girl who danced on stage during the performance of Kirill Suslov, and Sergei Shnurov compared the contestants with fishing spoons: “so cool” and “everyone shines”.

Valery Syutkin, according to him, lacked charm in Kirill Suslov's speech.

He also did not like everything in Nadezhda Samkova's room, but the artist considered the performance of Yana Gabbasova successful.

Both the viewers and the mentor made a choice in favor of Yana Gabbasova.

Kirill Suslov took the second place.

The contestants reached the semifinals, and Nadezhda Samkova left the project.

Dmitry Vengerov from Sergei Shnurov's troika sang a cover of one of the most famous songs of the King and the Jester group - "The Sorcerer's Doll".

Maria Rusakova sang the hit singer MakSim "Do You Know", after which the host of the show Dmitry Nagiyev joked that one of the strings of his soul had broken.

Former member of the group "Prime Minister" Jean Milimerov performed with Demis Roussos' song From Souvenirs to Souvenirs.

Valery Syutkin admitted that he liked Dmitry Vengerov's number the most.

The artist also spoke about the rest of the team's performances in a positive way, joking that, against the background of the repertoire of Shnurov's team, he himself is getting younger before our eyes.

Basta also rated all three numbers, calling the quarter-final edition of the project "an evening of dreams".

Vengerov, according to him, sang the song “like the last time, for real”, from the performance of Maria Rusakova, Vakulenko “broke his heart”, and Jean Milimerov's performance became “a real holiday”.

Summing up, Sergei Shnurov said that each of his charges deserves the highest mark.

And yet, Maria Rusakova received 50% of it, and the majority of viewers voted for Dmitry Vengerov, although the mentor gave him only 20%.

As a result, Jean Milimerov left the show, losing only 4.1% of the total votes to Rusakova.

Before leaving, the artist thanked the entire project team for so long that Dmitry Nagiyev had to literally push him off the stage by force.

The quarterfinals were closed by the contestants performing under the direction of Basta.

Vasily Pasechnik sang the song "Sweetheart" by the group "Nepara", Elizaveta Puris took the stage with the composition La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf, and Yuri Gordienko presented the ballad Where the Wild Roses Grow to the mentors' court, which was originally sung by Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue.

Sergey Shnurov again admitted that he could not say anything bad about the speakers: “I don’t know what is happening to me.

Either time is later ... But somehow my critical side is gone. "

He recalled the press conference of Vladimir Putin held on Thursday, where the musician took part as a journalist, and the president, in response to his question, advised to replace swear words with literary analogs.

As a result, Shnurov called Vasily Pasechnik's performance "radish".

Polina Gagarina emphasized that Baste managed to choose a successful song for each of his wards, which allowed him to reveal himself in the best possible way.

Commenting on the performance of Elizabeth Puris, the artist drew attention to her professional growth.

In turn, Valery Syutkin noted that the contestant managed to convey French charm.

All the mentors considered the performance of Yuri Gordienko to be organic, and Polina Gagarina wished that from now on this song would sound in such a performance.

Shnurov also said that he was at Nick Cave's concert, and there the artist sang Where the Wild Roses Grow worse than the contestant.

Elizaveta Puris received 50% of the votes from her mentor, and the viewers supported Vasily Pasechnik.

Both artists will continue to participate in the show.

Eight contestants reached the semifinals.

Kirill Suslov and Yana Gabbasova remained in the team of Polina Gagarina.

From Sergey Shnurov at the next stage Maria Rusakova and Dmitry Vengerov will appear on the stage.

Valery Syutkin continues to work with Suren Platonov and Oleg Akkuratov.

Basta's team includes Elizaveta Puris and Vasily Pasechnik.
