On December 19, a sonographer from the Third Medical Center of the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital performed remote diagnosis for patients in Nagqu, Tibet at the Remote Ultrasound Center.

After nearly two months of commissioning, the Remote Ultrasound Center of the Third Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital was officially put into use a few days ago to realize remote ultrasound consultations in the Naqu area of Tibet 3,000 kilometers away.

In the past half month, it has provided services to more than 20 patients.

According to Lu Faqin, director of the ultrasound department of the Third Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, the biggest advantage of the 5G remote ultrasound consultation system is that it can send high-quality medical resources from areas with relatively developed medical resources to remote areas, especially for emergency patients, through remote ultrasound. The diagnosis can be made or ruled out immediately after the examination.
