According to Tokushima Prefecture, on the 18th, an official at a poultry farm in Awa City reported that about 60 chickens were dead.



A simple test conducted by the prefecture gave a positive reaction for bird flu, and as a result of further genetic testing, "H5 type" bird flu virus suspected of being highly pathogenic was detected.
