China News Service, Zhengzhou, December 17 (Reporter Kan Li and Li Chaoqing) For the past few days, Zhengzhou, a city in northern China, has been dry and cold.

On the afternoon of the 16th, Yang Yujun wrapped in a thick cotton coat and walked into the Henan Red Cross Blood Center for the 285th free blood donation.

Yang Yujun, who is nearly 60 years old, is an old acquaintance of the Red Cross Blood Center in Henan Province. The staff affectionately call him "Mr. Yang".

In 1998, the "Blood Donation Law of the People's Republic of China" was formally promulgated and implemented. Yang Yujun and his wife Yang Jianxia, who learned of the news, discussed participating in voluntary blood donation.

"The first blood donation was proposed by my spouse." Yang Yujun said, after donating the first tube of blood in their lives, they planned the next time and just persisted.

At that time, the husband and wife often brought unattended children with them.

Over time, a family of three became "old men" at the Red Cross Blood Center in Henan Province.

The picture shows Yang Yujun showing his family's 22 years of free blood donation certificates and some honorary certificates covering a bed.

Under the influence of his parents, Yang Yujun's son also joined the team of voluntary blood donations.

Yang Yujun said that from the age of 10, his son watched them donate blood again and again.

"When he was 18 years old, he tried blood donation for the first time, and he persisted slowly. Now he has donated blood more than 100 times."

Yang Yujun’s home is not far from the Henan Provincial Red Cross Blood Center. In his house, the husband and wife moved out a box full of blood donation certificates and honor certificates and showed them to reporters that there was a double bed.

For 22 years, insisting on donating blood free of charge is not a big deal in the eyes of Yang Yujun and his wife.

"Donating blood has no effect on the body." Yang Jianxia said, "Clinical blood has always been in short supply. As a citizen, donating blood for free, if you need it, others will help you."

Yang Yujun said that the state's voluntary blood donation is to ensure the safety of clinical blood use to the maximum extent.

As a blood donor, donate one more to help one more person.

"I can no longer donate at 60, but I will do my best to promote unpaid blood donation."

The reporter learned from the Henan Provincial Red Cross Blood Center that since 1998, Yang Yujun's family has donated blood 663 times, donating a total of 11,400 milliliters of whole blood and 1,278 therapeutic amounts of platelets.

In Henan, a province with a large population, it is rare for a family of three like Yang Yujun to donate blood at the same time, but there are many individuals who donate more than 100 times.

Take the provincial capital Zhengzhou as an example. Up to now, there are 317 blood donors who have donated more than 100 times and 24 people have donated more than 200 blood.
