Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, affirmed that the interest of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in the Arabic language stems from the fact that it represents the main element of the Emirati culture, heritage and original values, as it is one of the most important foundations of our national identity, so it carries among its letters our history, our values and our creativity as well, explaining that the celebration The Arabic language does not stop at singing its virtues on its world day only, but goes beyond that. The Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence launched the "A Thousand Creativity" project, which focused on celebrating Arabic at the level of literary creativity in its various fields, as well as the artistic celebration of the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy, and encouraging youth and students Universities, talented and creative people to write in them in various fields of knowledge, in addition to other languages that we care about our children learning about, but not at the expense of our mother tongue, which is Arabic.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak added that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence has never stopped supporting Arabic in its various arts. Last year, it launched several initiatives related to the Arabic language, perhaps the most prominent of which is the "Arabic Language of Tolerance and Coexistence" initiative, to be a continuous activity throughout the year and focus on encouraging Public and private schools are concerned with learning the Arabic language, conducting research and studies related to it, and employing the Arabic language as a tool to spread and promote tolerance, and as a tool for acquaintance and communication between different cultures, consolidating the relationship with the other, and indicating its high position and wealth, as it is the language of tolerance, and a vessel for morals, civilization, culture and identity.
He explained that “The Arabic Language Project: The Language of Dialogue and Coexistence in Society”, in cooperation between the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, the Ministry of Education and private schools, focuses on language as a capacity, not just knowledge, that is, what the student can do with the language in his daily life, and thus the focus is on the uses The Arabic language in all aspects of the student’s life, from childhood to the highest university levels, which leads to confirming the place of the Arabic language in life, and works to strengthen the national identity, and strengthen belonging and loyalty to the homeland and the nation, stressing that the project focuses on the functional uses of the Arabic language through three Parts, in each of which emphasize the values of tolerance, coexistence and brotherhood, work ethics, study ethics, respect for others, respect for time, respect for achievement, and begin with the theoretical study of the Arabic language, then the second part comes to deal with practical application on the uses of the Arabic language, and the third part concerns the use of Modern technologies in developing Arabic language teaching.
He explained that «Arabic is the language of tolerance» aims to instill the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and respect for the other among young people and students through the Arabic language, in the framework of seeking to serve society, the country and the world, through continuous activities - despite the Corona pandemic that is sweeping the world - to train young people in communication methods And communicate in Arabic, greeting and celebrating Emirati heritage and traditions, among others.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak indicated that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, within the framework of its interest in the Arabic language, focuses on achieving specific goals, the most important of which is emphasizing the importance of the Arabic language, employing it as a tool for tolerance, coexistence and acquaintance through various activities, strengthening national identity and belonging among young people, and enabling them to be informed. With the elements of this identity, pride in and preserving it, within the framework of the ability to deal with others with confidence and optimism, in addition to providing young people with the opportunity to learn about the Arabic language, the culture and heritage of the United Arab Emirates, and be proud of it, and enable them to build bridges of understanding and harmony with their fellow students Citizens.
He valued the blessed efforts made by the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates to support and enhance the status of the Arabic language, locally and globally, as one of the most important components of our culture, history and original values, and our creativity as well, saying, “It is a great honor for me to extend my sincere thanks and respect to His Highness the Father Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and to his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and to their brothers as members The Supreme Council, the rulers of the Emirates, for their sincere efforts to elevate Arabia, its culture, sciences and arts at all levels.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak explained that the Ministry of Tolerance focuses its activities in relation to the Arabic language on instilling the values of tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of others, and cooperation among all groups of society without discrimination on the basis of color, race, religion or nationality, stressing that there is no concern about the future of the Arabic language. A preserved language, because it carries the words of the Noble Qur’an, calling on everyone to support and learn it, and to strive to teach it for future generations, so that it remains alive in our creativity and our daily life.
