In mid-December, near Diaoda Ban, Qifeng Tibetan Township, Sunan County, Gansu, in the Qilian Mountains, a reporter from the Sunan County Rong Media Center photographed several flocks of rock sheep leisurely foraging on the hillside beside the highway.
According to visual observations, there were more than 200 rock sheep foraging on the highway.
The rock sheep is a national second-level key protected wild animal, with a medium size and a shape between wild goat and wild sheep.
The rock sheep has extremely high rock climbing skills and can freely jump on the cliff, up to two or three meters in one jump, so it is also called "the wizard on the rock wall".
In recent years, Sunan County has further promoted the construction of ecological civilization in the Qilian Mountain National Nature Reserve, strengthened the management of the protected area, implemented measures such as returning grazing to grassland, the local ecological environment has gradually improved, and the public awareness of protection has continued to increase, resulting in an increase in the number of local wildlife .
