Released in November, Calogero's new album, "Center-ville", is gold and number 1 in sales.

The singer, guest of "Culture Médias", tells what he put in "Green Pen", the last track of his new album which tells the story of an illiterate family man and how the culture has been essential in his life.

INTERVIEW

It's a difficulty he rarely talks about.

Before achieving success in music, singer Calogero experienced academic failure.

"Without music, I don't know what I would have become" explains the artist in

Culture Médias.

In his song

Stylo vert

, the last track from his new album

Center-ville

, he imagines the story of an illiterate father having to correct his children's homework, drawing in part from his experience.

The lyrics of this song are a mix of several true stories and a little bit of the singer's imagination.

But Calogero says he also put a little of himself into it.

"I was failing at school and I hid it from my children for a long time," he explains.

"I wanted them to do well in school, so they had a choice later."

He also believes that it is better to tell the truth to children.

"Very little consideration" for culture

Faced with this youthful difficulty, Calogero explains that it is music that he has saved him from sinking down a bad path.

"You could say that it was the music and the culture that saved me. So when I hear that culture is non-essential, I can tell you that for me it was more than essential," says- he, referring to the terms chosen by the government to justify the sanitary restrictions.

Beyond the choice of words, the singer deplores the "little consideration for technicians, lighting engineers, roadies and all those who make sure that we are on stage".

Calogero is worried about seeing some already change jobs, because of the lack of support in the health crisis.

"It's very hard," he says sadly.

According to him, the aid promised by the government still does not arrive.

"They are put on the side, with very little consideration," he insists.

"You also have to be careful with the choice of words, 'non-essential', but be aware…" Calogero finally observes that the consequences on the world of culture are already at work.

"I have just learned that the Victor Hugo museum was perhaps not going to reopen, all of this is catastrophic", he laments.
