Since 2016, the Bloctel system has enabled consumers to register for free on a list of opposition to canvassing.

Despite this, the company Optynergy, based in Montgermont north of Rennes and specializing in auditing and home improvement, continued to canvass customers, notably using hidden numbers.

The prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine indicates this Tuesday that the company has been sanctioned for "abusive telephone canvassing" and for "breaches of the Bloctel device".

In a decision issued on November 23, the departmental direction of social cohesion and protection of the populations of Ille-et-Vilaine condemned the company to an administrative fine of 157,325 euros.

The prefect warns seniors against these canvassing

The prefect Emmanuel Berthier takes advantage of this sentence to warn seniors "who are the heart of the target of telephone canvassing".

He recalls that it is necessary "always to require a writing" before committing and that it is not necessary "to communicate under any pretext your bank details by telephone and / or on Internet".

The prefecture also specifies that "the public services do not carry out canvassing".

In the event of abusive canvassing, the authorities recommend contacting the gendarmerie or the police or filing a complaint on the Bloctel site if you are registered.
