According to Miyazaki Prefecture, a chicken was found dead at a poultry farm in Mimitsumachi, Hyuga City on the early morning of the 14th, and genetic testing detected the "H5 type" avian influenza virus.



This is the seventh case of bird flu confirmed in Miyazaki prefecture this season, and the prefecture has begun disposing of approximately 26,000 chickens raised at 4 pm.



It is said that the chickens were shipped to a slaughterhouse in Kawaminami just before the dead chickens were found at this poultry farm.



Due to this effect, about 27,000 chickens brought to the treatment plant from poultry farms in various places are also subject to disposal, and the prefecture has decided to dispose of and disinfect the chickens at this treatment plant as well.



According to the prefecture, this treatment plant is a large-scale facility in the prefecture, and if disposal and disinfection are completed and the government approves, operations can be resumed.
