The Grand-Est has not finished with the Covid-19.

In its latest situation report, the Regional Health Agency warns: the last week measured (49) is “marked by a worrying development of the epidemic” in the region.

A new trend, after the first four weeks of a second confinement which had allowed a marked slowdown in the spread of the virus.

But it's over.

Nearly 8,000 positive cases for Covid-19 were detected from November 30 to December 6.

That's 500 more than a week earlier.

Another indicator on the rise: the incidence rate.

As of December 10 in the Grand-Est, more than 160 people (159.1) out of 100,000 inhabitants are affected, a figure well above the national average (110).

The Marne seems to be apart (81), while the Ardennes (268), the Vosges (220), the Meuse (214) and the Haute-Marne (198) suffer particularly.

In Alsace, Bas-Rhin (118 cases / 100,000 inhabitants) is doing a little better than its neighbor Haut-Rhin (157).

These two departments are nevertheless, with Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle, those where there are the most hospitalizations because of the virus.

In total, 2,515 people in the Grand-Est are treated in health establishments, including 267 in intensive care.

“The pressure on this healthcare system remains strong,” writes the ARS, which evokes “a high risk of an epidemic rebound” in the coming weeks in France.
