In Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture, the water storage rate of the dam has declined and there is a risk of water outages, so the city held a resident briefing session and asked for understanding when water outages were to be carried out.

In Minamiboso City, there is still little rain, and the water storage rate of the Komukai Dam, which is the water source, has dropped to about 30% as of the 12th.

At a resident briefing held by the city, Mayor Hiroshi Ishii said, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the drought of the dam."

After calling for cooperation in saving water, he asked for understanding that if the water storage rate of the dam falls below 20%, water will be cut off for 3,200 households in some areas of the city.

In addition, the city has announced that it will provide subsidies to businesses whose sales have been affected by the water outage.

Residents commented, "If the water supply stops due to the corona virus, the risk of infection increases and I am worried."

After the briefing, Mayor Ishii said, "I would like to avoid the water outage, but if the water outage occurs, I would appreciate your cooperation and support to survive my life."

The city will hold a resident briefing session on the 13th.
