[Explanation] On December 10th, the exhibition "Looking Color Dunhuang-Dunhuang Grottoes Art Exhibition" opened at the Hainan Provincial Museum.
Zhao Shengliang, director of the Dunhuang Academy, said when attending the event that Dunhuang and Hainan, located on the land and maritime Silk Road respectively, have witnessed the history of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries in ancient times.
He hopes that through this exhibition, the audience will have a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of the “Belt and Road”, and further promote the Silk Road spirit of “peaceful cooperation, openness and tolerance, mutual learning, mutual benefit and win-win”, as well as inheritance and development China’s outstanding traditional culture, telling Chinese stories well and making positive contributions.

Now we are bringing things from Dunhuang to Hainan to let more people understand that Chinese culture is constantly communicating with foreign countries through two lines, one sea (Silk Road) and the other land (Silk Road).
This is one of the biggest characteristics of Chinese culture. Our Chinese culture has always adopted a very broad mind and widely absorbed foreign things to make ourselves stronger.
But there is one thing that we stick to our own tradition. I think we should inherit and carry forward this tradition.
[Explanation] Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is the oldest, largest, richest and best-preserved religious art cave in the world.
During the peak tourist season, tens of thousands of tourists visit every day, putting greater pressure on the protection of the grottoes.
When talking about how to protect and use Dunhuang cultural heritage, Zhao Shengliang said that the institute has always adhered to the principle of priority protection. In the future, Dunhuang will build a more comprehensive digital museum. Visitors can use digital physical exhibitions, Internet online exhibitions, mobile apps, etc. , While not causing damage to the main body of Dunhuang art, you can better experience Dunhuang culture.

In fact, the relationship between protection and use is not just about tourism. I think the use of this is more for us Chinese to learn and understand Chinese traditional culture, so that more art and design people can learn from it.
