The Pristidae, or more commonly known as "sawfish", are one of the most endangered ray species in the world.
Their main characteristic?
A rostrum covered with teeth that can measure a quarter of their size.
This appendix is a formidable weapon: it allows them to flush out and stun their prey, and to defend themselves against predators.
But, facing humans, this saw is a weak point: it gets stuck in fishing nets, and is also highly sought after by poachers, as our partner, Brut explains in this video.
