The applications have been examined on the basis of artistic and cultural policy significance and 1,465 actors may share in a total of SEK 440 million.

- We have chosen to distribute support to as many as possible instead of giving large sums to a few actors, says the Cultural Council's Director General Kajsa Ravin in a press release.

All art areas are represented among those who have been granted the support, but the music area dominates.

The Photographic Museum in Stockholm is the ones that get the most, they are granted just over SEK 3.9 million in support.

In the distribution round, there are also many subcontractors such as sound and lighting technicians, bookers and production planners.

One of those who received the most support is PA Kompaniet AB, which works with sound, lighting and stage technology, they are awarded just over SEK 3.5 million.

"Still great needs"

Last week, the Swedish Arts Council decided on crisis support for those who had canceled and postponed events, and during this week the council decided on who receives crisis support for special needs.

The support distributed today is the Cultural Council's last crisis support for culture for this year, but Minister of Culture and Sports Amanda Lind has promised that new support packages will come at the beginning of next year.

- We continue to see great needs in the cultural sector and welcome new crisis support for the spring of 2021, says Kajsa Ravin in the press release.
