[Explanation] At 9:40 on December 9th, with the sound of the whistle, the K9756 train carrying more than 600 passengers departed from Korla Station in Xinjiang Bayingoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture to Itunbulak Station, and the Ge-Ku Railway (Qinghai The Xinjiang section from Golmud to Korla, Xinjiang was officially opened for operation, and another railway out of Xinjiang was added to Xinjiang.

  The Ge-Ku Railway starts from Golmud City, Qinghai Province, passes through Ruoqiang County and Yuli County, Xinjiang, and ends in Korla City.

The total length of the line is 1,206 kilometers, and the Qinghai section has been opened for operation on June 30, 2020.

The Xinjiang section opened this time is 734 kilometers long, with 8 passenger stations including Kurmuyi, Ruoqiang and Itunbulak along the line.

  The completion of the Gekko Railway will effectively increase the railway capacity in southern Xinjiang. It will not only end the history of no trains in many places along the line, but also prevent local people from going northward to detour through Urumqi and other places.

  The oil products we are currently transporting to Golmud are mainly by road transportation. Its cost is about 650 yuan per ton. Now after the opening of the Gekku Railway, its cost is 380 yuan. So compared to the original road transportation, our The cost has dropped by about 40%.

  [Explanation] The Gekko Railway is another major railway crossing out of Xinjiang after the Lanxin Railway and Linhe-Hami Railway.

Its southern end is connected with the Qinghai-Tibet Railway at Golmud, the central part is at Ruoqiang and the Heruo Railway under construction, and the northern end is at Korla, which connects with the Southern Xinjiang Railway, further improving the Xinjiang railway network structure.

The opening of the Ge-Ku Railway marked the formation of Xinjiang's "one main and two auxiliary" passages out of Xinjiang.

In addition, the Gekko Railway is also an important part of the southern Xinjiang railway loop.
