Celebrities have collected almost 26 million euros for a good cause at the television show “A Heart for Children” this year.

Pop singer Helene Fischer and presenter Johannes B. Kerner announced this on Saturday evening on ZDF.

Several celebrities had received donation calls from viewers on the show.

Helene Fischer also performed herself.

The 36-year-old sang a duet with the Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, and later performed the song “Never Enough”.

Her colleague and ex-partner Florian Silbereisen was also there in Berlin.

The pop singer and "Traumschiff" captain sang together with the musician Thomas Anders.

The “A Heart for Children” campaign launched by the “Bild” newspaper has existed since 1978.

Because of the corona pandemic, there were no spectators in the hall this time.

The prominent guests sat on sofas in the room.

On the phones were cabaret artist Dieter Hallervorden, influencer Cathy Hummels and several federal ministers.

In the past year, more than 18 million euros were raised for children in need and social aid projects.

This time, too, various aid projects were presented - organizations, doctors, children and parents told their stories.

Helene Fischer met a girl again whom she had visited several years ago in the hospital.

The two talked - separated by a plexiglass.

Entertainer Barbara Schöneberger solicited donations from the celebrities.

In the end, a total of 25,977,285 euros was collected - a record according to the aid campaign.

The TV show also featured actress Uschi Glas, chef Alfons Schuhbeck, singer Katja Ebstein, entertainer Jürgen von der Lippe, presenter Sophia Thomalla and the influencers Lisa and Lena.
