24 miners were trapped underground and more than ten rescue and ambulance vehicles entered the site of the incident

  Yesterday (4th) around 5 pm, a carbon monoxide overrun accident occurred at the Diaoshuidong Coal Mine in Yongchuan District, Chongqing City, and 24 miners were trapped underground.

  So far, more than ten rescue vehicles and ambulances have entered the core site from outside.

Diaoshuidong coal mine has been closed for more than two months

  Early this morning, according to the latest situation obtained by the Emergency Rescue Command, the coal mine should have been shut down two months ago. However, the local mine went down to dismantle the equipment, which led to the accident.

  Diaoshuidong Coal Mine was built in 1975 and was restructured into a private enterprise in 1998.

Rescue work is currently underway and the cause of the accident is still under investigation

  At around 11 o'clock yesterday, people familiar with the matter revealed that the concentration of carbon monoxide in the mine was still very high and rescue was very difficult.

In order not to affect the rescue, the reporter was arranged outside the cordon, some distance from the core site. The emergency rescue headquarters conducted a live broadcast last night. The staff stayed there all night, and there were a lot of security supplies on the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
