Even death does not stop it.
Chadwick Boseman was nominated for Best Actor at the Gotham Awards, for his performance in
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Hollywood Reporter
.
The
Black Panther
actor
will be honored alongside Viola Davis, with whom he co-stars
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom,

Masterful performance
In
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom
, Chadwick Boseman stars as an ambitious trumpeter trying to make his mark in the music industry as he records an album with the legendary Ma Rainey (played by Viola Davis).
The film, available December 18 on Netflix, enjoyed a limited release in November in select independent US theaters, which allowed it to be eligible for the Gotham Awards.
Chadwick Boseman died at the age of 43 on August 28, after a secret battle with colon cancer.
His posthumous appointment may only be the start of a long series, with his performance in his final film being critically presented as masterful.
