According to reports, the Liwan police conducted a big data investigation and found that there are counterfeit brand cigarette production dens in Fushan Village, Huangpu District and Xiaolou Town, Zengcheng District.
The Liwan Police and the Food and Drug Environmental Investigation Detachment of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau conducted in-depth investigations and fixed evidence. On the afternoon of October 11, they joined forces with the tobacco departments of the city and district to launch a joint operation against Fushan Village and Xiaolou Town. The production dens implemented a unified net collection operation.
A group of operations seized one of the dens suspected of producing and processing counterfeit cigarettes in Kutian Street, Fushan Village, Huangpu District, and arrested 5 suspects including Fan at the scene, seized nearly 300 counterfeit cigarettes of a certain brand (50 pieces per piece), and carried out two investigations. More than 200 counterfeit cigarettes, one printer and one laptop computer were seized on a small truck ready for delivery.
The second group of operations seized another production and processing den in Fuqiang Street, Xiaolou Town, Zengcheng District, and arrested two criminal suspects including Zhou (male, 44 years old, from Zengcheng District, Guangzhou) at the scene, and seized more than 200 finished counterfeit cigarettes. One printer and one laptop each.
After the two counterfeit dens were quickly destroyed, the police handling the case discovered that some gang members were not on the scene.
At about 1 am the next day, the three groups of operations succeeded in arresting Fang and Wu in a parking lot on Jingxi Street in Baiyun District based on clues.
So far, members of the gang suspected of producing and selling fake cigarettes were arrested across the board.
After interrogation, the gang confessed to the fact that they produced and processed counterfeit cigarettes of well-known domestic brands.
At present, 6 main suspects including Fan have been detained by Liwan police in accordance with law.
