Faced with the second wave of Covid-19, the Alpes-Maritimes resisted.

The department, rather "behind" the epidemic, was then severely hit, but it is now in a phase of de-escalation, including at the hospital level.

This Tuesday, 58 patients with the new coronavirus were still in intensive care according to the daily assessment of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur ... a drop of a quarter in a week!

The occupancy rate for sheaves has fallen to 65%, its lowest level since mid-November.

The "positivity rate" under 10%

The number of people hospitalized drops sharply, for the first time on Tuesday.

It stands at 228, its lowest level since November 12.

The department seems to be emerging from a high plateau and finally starting a decline in the number of people hospitalized, which tends to confirm the drop in admissions.

The positivity rate fell to 9.9%, the lowest recorded in the Paca region outside the Vaucluse.

The “R” number, which makes it possible to estimate the number of people infected by a person carrying Covid-19, has dropped to 0.56.

This indicates that ten patients infect less than six people.

And therefore that the epidemic is on the decline.
