"Qian Zhongshu's Academic Life" published a batch of letters and lectures for the first time

  Xinhua News Agency, Shanghai, November 30 (Reporter Xu Xiaoqing) To commemorate the 110th anniversary of Qian Zhongshu's birth, "Qian Zhongshu's Academic Life" was recently published by Zhonghua Book Company.

  "Qian Zhongshu's Academic Life" has a total of 200,000 words and was written by Wang Sizhao, an 86-year-old senior professor of liberal arts at Fudan University, after years of accumulation.

The book is divided into four parts, including "Mr. Qian Zhongshu in History and Memory", "Mr. Qian Zhongshu's Learning and Interests", "Mr. Qian Zhongshu's Research on Song Poetry", and "A Glimpse of Qian Zhongshu Manuscript Collection" Dimensional expansion, with solid and rich memories, objectively present Qian Zhongshu's life, scholarship, and diplomatic friendship, etc., and a batch of letters and lectures were published for the first time.

  Wang Shuizhao worked at the Institute of Literature of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (now the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) in 1960. He got along with Mr. Qian Zhongshu day and night and had more contact with work, scholarship and life.

Mr. Qian told his younger generations about his life, and the two gradually established an academic relationship between teachers and friends.

After the reform and opening up, Wang Shuizhao taught at Fudan University and had frequent correspondence with Qian Zhongshu and Yang Jiang.

Until the death of Mr. Qian Zhongshu in December 1998, Wang Shuizhao wrote several memoir articles according to Mr. Yang Jiang's request.

  Guo Shiyu, the editor-in-charge of Zhonghua Book Company, said that the book not only collects and organizes Wang Shuizhao's memories of Qian Zhongshuwen, who have been seen in newspapers and magazines in the past, but also asks Mr. Wang Shuizhao to fill in the historical memory of key passages. The Significance of the Academic Intersection between Qian Zhongshu and Chen Yinque, and the "Reading Notes of Rong'an Pavilion", which explores Qian Zhongshu’s manuscript, are both in the form of a long essay in ten thousand characters, reproducing Mr. Qian’s academic skills and feelings, and filling Several gaps in related research fields have been solved.

  It is worth mentioning that the book "The Academic Life of Qian Zhongshu" also fully disclosed the friendship between Qian Zhongshu and Japanese Sinology researchers such as Ogawa Hannaki and Uchiyama Seiya.

Many years later, under the impetus of Nei Shan and Wang Sizhao, Mr. Qian Zhongshu's classic anthology "Selected Notes on Song Poems" was published in Japanese and published in Tokyo.

Many experts from Beijing and Shanghai also said that although "Qian Zhongshu's Academic Life" is not a biography, it has historians' style and skill. It is another masterpiece to commemorate Mr. Qian.

  "The Academic Life of Qian Zhongshu" was first printed in 8,000 volumes, and the first edition will be issued by Zhonghua Book Company in November 2020.
