"It was a mess with Guy Lux!"

In the documentary broadcast on C8, Patrick Sébastien is asked about his career, the opportunity for him to take a look in the rearview mirror.

"We realize all the same that we did not pretend. We worked, we created. All the shows that I did for 30 years, I created them, I wrote all the sketches. ", he recalls.

"I took care of everything, even the light, etc."

This desire to shape everything in his programs, the presenter learned it alongside a monument of the genre: Guy Lux.

"It was a mess with Guy !, smiles Patrick Sébastien. He could have a live broadcast in the evening and say at 8:30 p.m. 'It's not possible, it can never be done!'. But there was always a miracle, ”he explains.

"And he was always good-natured."

The creator of the

Greatest cabaret in the world

also remembers a Guy Lux "king of the blunder": "Once he announces the name of an Italian singer, he is wrong. And Sophie Darel tells him that the artist doesn't call herself that. He doesn't know her microphone is left open and he replies "Anyway, who knows that bitch !?", he laughs.

"I will not be coming back to TV"

A bygone era for which Patrick Sébastien says he is "nostalgic".

According to him, television has changed a lot.

"The guys were great, they were artists," he explains.

"What I'm saying in the documentary is that I then saw products go by, more artists."

The presenter is also sorry about what has become of his old New Year's Eve meeting on December 31.

"For years, we had been a hit by doing popular stuff. I think this year will do it in Versailles. It corresponds well to the state of mind of this country ...", he analyzes .

"The public service will do December 31 at Versailles in honor of King Emmanuel 1st."

Patrick Sébastien, however, does not want to offer new things for the small screen.

"I'm not sorry to be on TV anymore, and I won't be back," he says.
