More than 100 participants have written a testimonial of the success of the first preliminary race for the sixth edition of the National Camel Day Marathon, organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, and will be held in conjunction with the festival of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for purebred Arabian camels in a month Next January.

The Marmom session in Dubai turned yesterday to a mini-celebration drawn by the participants and attendees of citizens and various nationalities residing in the country, who gathered under the slogan “Love of the UAE's heritage”, on these days as we approach the celebration of the 49th National Day, with emphasis Clear to the center on health and safety controls and social distancing during the events.

In the first preliminary round for the under 29-year-old category, Ateeq Rashid Obaid Al-Hili Al-Hajri surpassed, on board the "Al-Muheet" ride, crossing the distance of four kilometers at a time of 6.40 minutes. Cash prizes were allocated for each half of 50 thousand dirhams, bringing the ceiling for the prizes for the two halves of the preliminary race to 100 thousand dirhams.

Ateeq Rashid Obaid Al-Hali Al-Hajri, winner of the first half of the U-29 category, expressed his happiness with the joy of the first participation in this type of race, which comes on an occasion that is precious to all of us, which is the National Day, and said: “I have previously participated in other races, but this time The matter is completely different, I prepared well and wanted to achieve the best position and my happiness double by getting the first place.

While his father Rashid was waiting for him eagerly at the finish line and the first to congratulate him on winning, and said: “My presence here is for Ateeq, who deserves this support, and we always strive to provide all the elements of success for him, and we wish him success in the main race and repeat the first place.”

The experience of the contestant, Yahya Ali Al-Mala'i Al-Ketbi, played an important role in determining the superiority in the second half for a group over 30 years old. He said: “Returning to participating in this race has become an annual priority, and I selected the best and most powerful camels, because this run needs speed in a distance of four Kilometers, I felt my ability to win, despite the strong competition and the great participation of elite contestants, with whom we hope to repeat these good fraternal competitions with them again.

For her part, Director of the Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, Suad Ibrahim Darwish, confirmed that the success of the first preliminary race of the National Day Marathon was achieved thanks to the efforts of the participants in the first place, who attended with all seriousness, willingness and eagerness to win the first places, what Reflected at the level close to the last meters in order to settle the first places, and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage harnesses all its capabilities in the service of this event, believing that supporting the people of the nation and heritage is a national duty and responsibility that must be sincerely performed, for the sake of our citizens who seek To motivate them to practice various types of traditional sports, and to focus on preserving and spreading the popular heritage in general, specifically in these races, by motivating them to join camels, ride them, and run races as an extension of the steps of their first parents and grandparents.

Darwish also expressed her happiness with the success of the match for the under-29 category, which was added for the first time this year after the competitions were limited to the category over 30 years old only last year, which was translated by the strong presence and good participation of the young contestants.

The main race for the National Camel Day Marathon, with a distance of 11 kilometers, will be held on January 29, and preceded by the second preliminary race, which will be held on December 25, for a distance of six kilometers, and it also consists of two runs, and is allocated to the two age groups (under 29 years and over 30 Year).
