For thirty years, Patrick Jullian and his white beard have been playing Santa Claus.

“Of course, Santa Claus is not vital, but with this health crisis, even children's dreams are flying away,” laments Patrick Jullian.

For nearly 30 years, this inhabitant of Saint-Pantaléon, in the Lot, a true doppelganger of Father Christmas with his magnificent white beard, has been putting stars in the eyes of children in December.

But this year, the coronavirus epidemic has taken a toll on his legendary good humor.

He sees his contracts with the town halls being canceled as and when.

"Everything is over for me until December 15th"

“Every year since 1992, I've been playing Santa Claus in the streets of Saint-Gaudens and in schools, but for now, I still don't know if this will be the case, says Patrick Jullian bitterly.

With the measures announced Tuesday by Jupiter, everything is over for me until December 15.

We deprive the children of Santa Claus and of meetings to leave them in front of the screens ”.

The month of December represents a large part of the activity of this independent worker, who also offers performances of French songs with his two daughters all year round.

This summer, he gave only four concerts, instead of the usual twenty.

Patrick Jullian made a request for compensation to the authorities, up to 100 euros per canceled contract.

“My file was pending but I learned two days ago that it was accepted, details Santa Claus.

I am now waiting to see if I could give the children some cheerfulness after December 15th.

My outfit is ready and my reindeer are impatiently pawing ”.
