The Council of State, in Paris, April 30, 2019. -

Clément Follain / 20 Minutes

The Council of State on Wednesday annulled two important provisions of the decree of July 2019 on the reform of unemployment insurance, the methods for calculating the base of the compensation as well as the bonus-malus on the unemployment contribution of certain companies.

The Council of State, seized by several trade union organizations and employers' federations, did not however question the tightening of membership conditions or the introduction of a degression for high incomes.

Due to the crisis, the government suspended the application of the reform until April 1 and its content is currently being discussed again with the social partners.
