Recently, Zhao Li, the curator of the Chengdu Huaxi Entomological Museum, discovered when organizing specimens that among the dragonfly specimens collected by the museum from the Jinkouhe District of Leshan, Sichuan in August this year, there is the smallest dragonfly species in the world, the small red dragonfly. Dragon, this is the first record of this species in Sichuan.

In this batch of specimens, the smallest dragonfly known in the world was also found, with a body length of less than 15 mm.
