At 10 o'clock that day, Wang Tao and four others found Ma Hongbing (the third brother of the defendant Ma Weibing) in room 504 of a building in Banzha Jiayuan, and they identified the police and asked him to cooperate with police work.

Ma Hongbing refused to cooperate, holding a kitchen knife to resist arrest and climbing up the kitchen window, threatening to jump off the building.

During the stalemate between the two sides, the defendant Ma Weibing, who lives in Room 403 of the building, went out to go home, took out the two sharp knives that were usually hidden from the fire well on the 5th floor, and rushed into Room 504 with one in both hands. After a brief exchange with Ma Hongbing, he was right. The police officers at the scene stabbed, while at the same time, Ma Hongbing rushed from the kitchen with two kitchen knives and slashed them, causing the death of civilian policeman Wang Tao and auxiliary policeman An Yelei, and auxiliary policeman Wu Jun being injured.
