One of the two newly confirmed cases of local new coronary pneumonia in Shanghai yesterday (20th), Wu Moumou, worked as a security inspector at the West Cargo Terminal of UPS Shanghai International Transit Center at Pudong Airport.

On November 9, there was also a confirmed case of local new coronary pneumonia in Shanghai. Wang Moumou was working in the cargo station of the West Airline Division of Pudong Airport.

Unlike many previous confirmed cases in various places, which were related to imported cold chain items, Wang Moumou usually came into contact with imported non-cold chain items at work.

Does this mean that imported non-cold chain items may also carry and spread the new coronavirus?

If so, how to prevent and control it?

Wu Zunyou, chief expert of epidemiology at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, explained this.

Wu Zunyou, Chief Expert of Epidemiology, China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: After

entering the winter, all international freight environments are similar to the cold chain in summer, so the

low temperature in winter causes the "non-cold chain" to tend to the "cold chain" effect.

The recent severe international epidemic has increased the risk of contamination of overseas goods.

On the other hand, the

temperature

in

winter is low, and the virus can survive on the surface of containers and containers for longer

. Contact with these items in a frozen environment will increase the risk of infection.

At present, many domestic enterprises have strengthened environmental testing and personnel screening, and the infection can be detected in a timely manner. In many places, imported non-cold chain items have also caused personnel infection.

Therefore,

domestic imported "non-cold chain" goods must also be managed in accordance with "cold chain" standards. At the same time, sampling and testing of goods must be adhered to and regular personnel screening.

As long as the two measures can be implemented, they will not cause large-scale personnel infection.
