Stress may be transmitted from person to person like other infectious diseases

Scientists from the two universities of Jicin and Vienna announced that stress can be transmitted from person to person like other infectious diseases.

And the results of an experiment in which volunteers participated, showed that it is enough for a person to be near another who suffers from tension until he begins to feel the same feeling.

The scientists indicated that the presence of a person who feels tension near another, this stimulates the production of hormones associated with stress, according to the scientific journal "Psychoneuroendocrinology".

During the experiment, the scientists sorted the volunteers into groups of four to five people, and the scientists tried to create a sense of loneliness.

Then one person was taken from each group to solve a complex math problem, while the others watched.

Scientists also took the observers' saliva to analyze stress hormones.

Experience has shown that once a person is stressed it can also trigger tension in other people, and in particular, it leads to increased production of the hormone cortisol.

According to the scientists, the results of the study allow them to get closer to creating new effective techniques to deal with stress.
