Maurice the boar has the right to a stay, his case will be judged in 2021

No conciliation possible this Wednesday in the case of the Maurice boar, adopted five years ago by a family from Corrèze when he was small.

He is still threatened with euthanasia because it is forbidden by law to keep a wild animal but his owners will be able to breathe a little until April 2021 when a correctional hearing should be held, reports France Bleu Limousin. 

This wild boar, they took it in when it was a little wild boar who had found refuge in their garden.

After an anonymous denunciation, the threat of euthanasia hangs over Maurice, a real pet, whose owners highlight domestication.

It would also have a secure enclosure.

They created a “Save Maurice” Facebook page and launched a petition that collected over 160,000 signatures.
